Schools Offer

MHN offers mentoring, tutoring and combined packages of support.

MHN Therapeutic Mentors offer 1:1 sessions for children and young people struggling with mental health and school attendance. We offer bespoke support to meet each young persons needs at a time and place that works; at home, in school or in the community. We also offer termly group support for young people to share common issues and support each other in a safe inclusive space. For young people who would benefit from 1:1 tuition, our Education Mentors can create bespoke education sessions. Our holistic approach connects parents, carers and school staff, to enable sustainable change.

Our work uses evidence based approaches and psychoeducation to empower children and young people. We monitor outcomes using recognised tools; Strength and Difficulties Questionnaires (SDQs), SCORE-15 (for our groups with families) and the Warwick Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMWBS). Communication is a key part of our support and we will provide weekly feedback to school and feedback to parents as agreed to ensure consistency in support across home and school environments.

We also offer training for schools, to enable schools to create positive environments and sustainable experiences for the most vulnerable pupils. Strategies and changes that target vulnerable students can benefit the whole school community. Please contact us to talk about your training requirements.
